Most universities intake students based on the aggregate marks secured in the undergraduate program like Bachelor of Physical Education or related courses.

Students are advised to strictly adhere to the dates mentioned in the college websites.

Do submit the application either offline or online(it is mostly online due to the ongoing situation of COVID-19) before the deadline mentioned by the college. The application form asks for basic details like name, phone, date of birth, etc.. along with the Preference for PET center.

Pay the required application fees as mentioned by the university or college.

Do check mails or official college websites for admit cards of the entrance exam and appear for the entrance exam.

There are some universities which conduct entrance test and that entrance test is segregated into three parts like

Written test- 

The marks for the test varies according to the university and usually it is for two hours long. Questions will be likely to test the knowledge in Bachelors of Physical Education and general knowledge on sports.

Physical Fitness Test-

Candidates who qualify in the Written Test are called for the Physical Fitness Test where they would be asked to demonstrate the various physical activities and their physical ability will be tested.

Playing Ability Test-This is the final stage of selection where the candidates have to exhibit their playing skill in any particular sport.

Some universities also conduct personal interviews to the candidates for testing various interpersonal skills in the process of selection.

Most common and prevailing entrance exams for masters in physical education are Amity entrance exam, Delhi University Entrance Exam, Lovely Professional University Physical Efficiency Test, etc..


There is no age limit or restriction to pursue Masters in Physical Education.

All candidates who possess an average of 50 to 60 percent of marks in Bachelor of Physical Education(1 year or 3 year degree) and Sports or Bachelor of Science in Physical Education and Health.

Note:There shall be relaxation of 5 percent of marks for SC/ST/OBC and other candidates as per the rules.

Candidates who have keen interest in physical education and its related activities and are physically fit.

Masters in Physical education is a postgraduate course in physical education which is for the period of two years that offers knowledge about sports psychology, sports research methodology, physical injuries in sports, sports medicine, computer application in physical education and exercise psychology.

The curriculum of the course includes sports psychology, sports theory, athletics curriculum, instruction, anatomy, cardiovascular science, etc,...
